Competitions & Bonspiels
| Every year several the club holds several competitions in Akureyri Ice Rink, most of them club tournaments but also the
National Championship and the open bonspiel Ice Cup. Club tournaments: Akureyri Championship (first 2004), Marjo's Memorial, Gimli Cup (first 2001), ACC Cup (first 2004) and several one night bonspiels including Christmas Bonspiel, Newcomers night etc. National tournament: Icelandic Championship (first 2002). International Open bonspiel: Ice Cup (first 2004) - contact haring@simnet.is for information on the next Ice Cup. Icelandic Championship is organized by the Icelandic Curling Committe, which is, through the Icelandic Sports Association, a member of the European Curling Federation and the World Curling Federation. |
