Rules of competition/system of play
1.
The bonspiel consists of five rounds played by the Schenkel System where teams 1-2, 3-4, etc. play in each round, without playing twice against the same team (except if they play in the finals). If a team has already played against the next team it plays againt the next team below that. Two points are awarded for victory and one point for a tie. In the first round games are A-B, C-D etc. After each round teams are ranked by points (then ends, then stones).

2.
Each team plays two games on Friday, two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday morning. Games start at 8:30, 11:00, 14:00 and 16:30 on Friday and Saturday and at 8:30, 11:00 and 14:00 on Sunday. Top four teams play for medals on Sunday afternoon.

3.
Before each game teams have 10 minutes warmup period, order decided by the skips of the playing teams. At the beginning of a game the Arena clock is set at 85 minutes and counts down. When the horn blows teams will finish the ongoing end and play one end after that. An end is considered finished when the last stone of that end is in motion.

4.
After five rounds top two teams play for the gold medal and teams ranked number 3 & 4 play for the bronze medal. Medal games shall be full 8 end games.

5.
If teams in the top four can not be ranked by the criteria (points, ends, stones) there will be a shoot-out on Sunday at 13:00 according to internationally reckognized rules.

6.
Each team may consist of five players but substitution shall only be done between games except with the permission of the opposing skip or when a player is injured or can not keep on playing for other valid reasons.

7.
Otherwise rules of WCF apply when applicable.
