Ice Cup: Team from Bratislava Curling Club signs up

Ice Cup Committee proudly announces that we now have received a registration from a team in Bratislava, Slovakia. The team, consisting of Pavel Kocian, Pavol Pitonak, Radomir Vozar and Juraj Kapolka, represented Slovakia at ECC 2004 and 2005 with the total record of 5-15.

Akureyri Curling Club members were delighted to hear the news and look very much forward to having that team on the ice in Akureyri.

Last year we had four teams from USA and Canada and one from UK, including 12 women and 8 man. This year looks like it will be different with three European teams already signing up including players from Switzerland, Holland, Denmark and Slovakia. It looks like Akureyri Curling Club now has to start looking for new flags! And these three teams include 12 men but no woman.

So here it is: Women needed!
