Ice Cup: Sixteen teams, four heats, five games for all teams

As time goes by Ice Cup gets closer and closer. Within two weeks more than 60 curlers will be working hard and doing their best on the ice competing for the Ice Cup Championship 2005.

Tournament committee has decided system of play, times for games etc. Sixteen teams will be playing, divided into four heats. On Friday May 6th they will be playing round robin in the heats. First games start at 8:30 and last games at 20:15. More detailed time schedule will be given to the teams soon. On Saturday May 7th the winners of the heats will be playing for seats 1-4, thus that winners of heats A&C and winners of heats B&D will be playing in semi-finals. Winners of these games will be playing for the gold and losing teams will be playing for the bronze. The same system will apply for all the other teams – the teams finishing in 2nd places in the heats will play for seats 5-8 etc. First games on Saturday will start at 08:30 and last games at 15:45. All games will be six ends except gold and bronze games, which will be eight ends.

Draw to the heats has not been made yet but detailed schedule will be e-mailed to the teams as soon as that has been done, together with rules of the tournament etc.
